Our Sugar Gliders Program started from the belief that children and young adults who want to experience the thrill and benefits of skydiving should have every opportunity to make that dream come true. Just like adults, skydiving gives children confidence and the skills to overcome fear at an early age. Imagine knowing as a kid that you can do anything you set your mind to—like jumping out of a plane!
What sets Skydive Orange Skies apart from other facilities is our high degree of professionalism and safety—but also, our family environment. Unlike many of the other skydiving locations you may visit, our facility and staff is very family friendly—maybe because most of our instructors are parents themselves!

Can Kids Skydive?
Absolutely, kids can skydive! In fact, skydiving with children is very popular and even standard in countries around the world, including Mexico, Madagascar, Egypt, Spain, Germany, Austria, Australia, New Zealand. In the U.S., there are only two locations that currently offer skydiving services—both of which are in Colorado. In order to offer this incredible experience, we have developed an approach that follows all Federal Aviation Regulations in order to operate at the highest levels of safety.
Is Skydiving Safe For Kids?
Skydiving is considered by most to be a High Risk Activity. However, as of 2024, the statistical chances of a fatality incident during a skydive are .23 per 100,000 skydives. According to the data, skydiving is actually safer than many recreational sports/activities that are currently available and widely accepted for children.
Of course, it is impossible to guarantee safety. But we can go above and beyond to lower the risks as much as possible to create a life-changing experience for your little one. We use specific equipment designed for smaller participants, and also only jump parachutes that are of the newest technology and in premium to new conditions.
Key Information For Parents
What age can kids jump?
Ages 7-17 are welcome to make a skydive at Skydive Orange Skies. Please note that an appointment is mandatory, we cannot accept walk-in skydives for children.
How much does it cost for my child to jump?
A kids’ skydive at Skydive Orange Skies costs $499. You have the option to purchase video as well for an additional fee. We’re happy to discuss this more when you call us to schedule.
What are the requirements for my child to jump?
First and foremost, the child must be in full agreement with making a skydive (if parents are convincing the child to skydive, we will not proceed). Both parents/legal guardians will need to be present at the skydive in order to sign the waiver for their child to participate in skydiving. (We understand life is complicated, give us a call if this isn’t possible and we can guide you through getting the documents together.)
Both parents and kids are required to bring identification. Kids can use a birth certificate, passport or social security card. Parents will need to bring a legal form of I.D. like a driver’s license or passport, as well as proof of relationship (birth certificate). When you get to the dropzone, all participants will need to sign a liability waiver agreement.
Where is the dropzone?
Skydive Orange Skies is located just outside the Denver area, and is easily accessible to the front range. We are a quick one-hour drive from Denver International Airport.
What else should I know?
One big aspect of safety is only jumping in proper weather conditions. The weather forecast is always out of our hands. In the event of inclement weather, we will have to reschedule your jump. For this reason, if you are traveling out of state—it might make sense to plan an extra day or two for your skydiving trip.

On The Day Of Your Jump
On the day of the big jump, please ensure to be on time for your scheduled appointment. Plan on being at the facility for a minimum of two hours. Once you arrive, we will take plenty of time to walk you and your little one through the process so that everyone feels comfortable. It’s recommended to arrive fully hydrated, and make sure you’ve eaten a light meal beforehand.
We know that taking your kiddo skydiving is a meaningful endeavor. It is natural for feelings of all types to be involved, and we are here to support you. We are always happy to explain our safety protocol to parents. Our goal is for parents and child to feel comfortable and excited about skydiving as a lifetime accomplishment.
About Our Sugar Gliders Instructors
We are the only facility in Colorado that completes drug tests and background checks for the instructors that will jump with your child. This paperwork is available to you upon request, prior to the jump. With much of our staff being parents and accomplished adults, we understand and appreciate what it means to let those little ones spread their wings. We take every skydive seriously and take pride in our longstanding 100% Safety Record.
